Mouldy Grandmas

Photobucket
Blazer/shirt thing - charity shop, fringe top - New Look, shorts - H&M, sandals - nicked off my sister (shhh!), earrings - xmas market

I'm not really a fan of this outfit to be honest, but I feel like it's high time that I posted something on this blog! I have only just realised that my top button of my shorts aren't done up... How scandalous!

The title of this post refers to the fact that this £1 blazer/shirt thing that I bought from a charity shop still smells of mouldy grandmas, even after going through the washing machine (an issue I mentioned in my haul video below!) Oh well, at least I look cool wearing it, even though it his rather massive, so I'm going to have to take it up a bit.

Other news include that I am going to do a giveaway once I hit 150 followers and it's going to be a good one - I have already picked out my prizes! Thus, there is no better time than now to hit follow on my blog as it is a giveaway that you are not going to want to miss.

Also in the mundane life of myself, A level results are coming out in two 2 days (I took AS level Chinese this year) and GCSE results in a weeks time which is rather daunting. I'm thinking of regarding myself opening my results and then posting it onto YouTube as I'm a massive internet nerd. Yay or nay?

Ciao for now!

Patterned Shirt and "Leather" Shorts

Photobucket
Patterned shirt - charity shop, shorts - local shop, thick leggings - Primark, boots - Doc Martens

As I said in the video, I love this garish shirt. It reminds me of the Bayeux Tapestry as it document a specific moment in history, just like how the Bayeux Tapestry documents the Battle of Hastings. It depicts this huge village scene where there are people travelling across the river via oxen (THAT'S THAT WORD I WAS THINKING OF IN THE VIDEO!), washing their clothes in the river and just generally carrying out their daily lives but in a way which is so foreign and simplistic compared to our complicated lives nowadays.

Also as I mentionned in the video, I am almost developing a thing for gaudy and loud patterned shirts, so I may film a "How I style Patterned Shirts" video anytime soon. Thus I think that that is a perfect incentive for you guys to head on over to my YouTube channel and subscribe?! ScatterrBrained's Youtube

As usual, I apologise for the terrible quality of video and the aspect ratio again. I think it is YouTube's fault since before I upload them, the aspect ratio seems fine.

PEACE!

P.S. Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. I was sort of depressed in the morning, but your comments really did cheer me up - thank you.

My Youtube Debut?!

That is right my blog friends, I have ventured out into the mysterious, enigmatic and alluring world that is Youtube! To celebrate my 100 blogger followers (absolutely crazy stuff I know, huge thanks to everyone), I have decided to launch my Youtube-ing "career".
As I was editing this video, I was very tempted to not upload the video as when I watched the video back, I was cringing the entire way through it. However, sometimes you just have to force yourself out of your comfort zone and just do it as Youtube is quite scary. It is a far greater platform than Blogger, which is both intimidating and exciting.

This video is far from perfect. I would like to apologise for the terrible background noise - no, I do not live inside a jungle, but I do live next door to a secondary school, which just so happened to be on it's lunch break. I don't even know if this video is very interesting to watch, but hey, you have to start somewhere. I can imagine that it is only the start of something great and I feel like I have so much to learn and so much I am wanting to offer.

Lastly, if you did enjoy what you saw, please feel free to push the subscribe button! I promise you won't regret it!

Peace!

P.S. I have one thing that I am slightly perplexed about. I don't know what I should do with my old Youtube channel. I have used that channel now for about 4 years for subscribing to other Youtubers and simply being a viewer. I want to use my "ScatterrBrained" Youtube channel as my "professional" one, but I don't want to stop using my other channel, where I have over 200 subscriptions as it would be a pain in the behind if I were to resubscribe to everyone.
P.P.S. I have wasted numerous hours today trying to publish and upload this video. I thought blogging was time consuming, but making Youtube videos is on a whole other level.
P.P.S. I filmed this video in super cool HD, but all the uploading has made it not HD. :(
P.P.P.S. Yes, I realise the ending is rather strange.

Profiteroles

Today, I decided to make profiteroles with my awesome friend MP. After the first few steps, I must admit, the choux pastry looked absolutely vile, but in the end it turned out pretty ay-okay.
The finished product!

Here is a video I made of the entire process!

Here is Youtube video that I got the recipe from.

And lastly, here is a funny video about profiteroles.

I now realise why no one ever makes profiteroles by hand. They are probably the most tedious and ridiculous things to fill with cream and dunk in chocolate - especially since ours were so diddy. Nonetheless, they tasted very yummy!

Unhello,

P.S. I am uploading this post at 00.14pm, so technically I have broken my Blog Every Day in Half Term, which sucks! However, I got home at 10.30pm, and since then, I've been attempting to upload this video onto Youtube, which has decided to be a bum and keep crashing when reaching 93% uploaded. I also posted twice yesterday and I've also got another 2 planned to write later today, so please don't be too angry!

Favourite Youtubers

I was going to write a boring post about trains today, but then instead I thought to myself, who cares.... I'll do one of about my favourite Youtubers for BEDIHT day 3!

I far too much time on this website, as I am sure you do too. I am subscribed to almost 300 people on it, even though I have recently decided to unsubscribe to as many people as possible. It's just too tempting to click on a video on the subscription list, and then spend half a day going through all the videos on the channel. Plus, alot of the people that I am subscribe to, no longer interest me since my taste in videos have changed.

I think I first started watching Youtube videos in 2007-ish. This was when I first started getting into make-up and beauty, and at this point the beauty community was much nicer, less bitchier and I felt like I was actually learning about it from the videos. I am still subscribed to loads of those beauty "gurus", but I find that some videos are so repetitive, really poorly made and often unrelatable. There are make up artists (such as Lisa Eldridge) who have decades of professional experience in the trade making videos; I don't need a 14 year old girl to teach me how to do my eyeliner too.

Anyway, here are my favourites:

KickThePj
I think that his videos are all so fantastically animated, drawn and edited- it is obvious that alot of time and effort have been taken in them. And those eyes!
Favourite Video?

It's so peculiar, I love it!

brettdomino
Brett Domino and Steven Peavis are the epitome of cool. Geeky is the new sexy.
Favourite Video?

grav3yardgirl
I think that this is one of those beauty channels that I was just ranting about, but I think Bunny has to probably one of the funniest people I have ever come across on all the interweb. Plus her eyes and shoe collection is absolutely awesome.
Favourite Video?
I don't have a favourite video - all of her videos make me feel happy - but is a random recent one.

sortedfood
I think I can thank Sorted for helping me improve my culinary skills! Plus, whenever I watch their videos I get so hungry!
Favourite Video?

This simply because I use this recipe so often for an instant chocolate cake!

ClothesEncounters
If I had to only watch one channel, this would be the one that I would chose. As you can probably tell at the moment, I am really into thrifting, fashion and clothes and Sarah has a fantastic sense of style. It's so inspirational.
Favourite Video?
This is by no means my favourite video since I love all of their outfit videos. I want some disco pants, plus all of Jenn's platforms! I do miss Sarah's presence in their videos though. :(

I realise that probably not will be interested in quite a few of these channels, since they are often quite specific, but I hope you got something out of this quick blog post!

What are your favourite Youtube Channels? Tell them me in the comments.

Tah-tah for now.
